xml-grep
− print matching fragments as an XML file on the
standard output.
SYNOPSIS

[OPTION]...
PATTERN [ [FILE]... [:XPATH]...
]... |
DESCRIPTION
xml-grep
searches the input FILE(s) for text nodes and attribute
values (not tag names) described by the regular expression
PATTERN, and prints the matching fragments to the standard
output, as an XML file.
OPTIONS
--invert-match
print data NOT matching
PATTERN.
--ignore-case
when matching data, ignore
upper and lowercase distinctions.
--extended-regexp
assume extended regexp syntax
in PATTERN.
--subtree
always print the whole subtree
context of a match.
--attributes
print only matching
attributes.
EXIT STATUS
xml-grep
returns 0 on success, or 1 otherwise.
EXAMPLE
Print nodes
(incl. children) which contain a pattern, without regard for
case:
xml-grep -i ’wi.*ard’ rincewind.xml
Show nodes
which do not match a pattern:
xml-grep -v ’../02/2009’ logfile.xml
